Peter Short is a native of Dundalk, and is a member of a long established
Dundalk family. A life-long Socialist and Republican in the tradition of Tone
and Connolly he has been active on community, social and political issues for
Peter has campaigned against sectarianism and division, and for the unity of
Protestant, Catholic and Dissenter in Ireland.
In a time of population growth Peter believes that hospital cutbacks and
closures will lead to more unnecessary deaths. An anti-war activist Peter has
worked for the closure of Sellafield.
A retired Marine Engineer, Peter is a keen musician; a member of Comhaltas
Ceolteoírí Éireann well known in musical circles.
Peter is a member of the Demesne Road Resident's Association.
